Student questions:

How do I apply?
Applying is easy!  Fill out our form online and your application will come
to us.  Once reviewed & approved, you will be contacted with your
shopping appointment time.

What are the requirements?
All students must be currently enrolled in a Houston-area high school.
Bring a valid high-school I.D. or drivers license to the shopping day.  No
proof of financial need is required.

How does the shopping day work?
When you check in for your shopping appointment, you will be asked for
your student I.D. or drivers license.
After checking in your purse or backpack, you and one guest will be
escorted into the shopping area.
You will have one hour to find the prom outfit of your dreams, plus all
the accessories to go with it!
Our personal shoppers and volunteers will be on hand to help you make
your selections, try on your outfit, even pick your jewelry and
accessories.
Once you've found everything you need, you will check out and be ready
for a fabulous night!

Are high school students the only people you help?
We provide assistance to students of all ages and formals for all
occasions, including military balls, debutant parties, and 8th grade
dances.  Students applying for activities other than prom should still fill
out the
application and make note of the event they are attending.
Acceptances will be made for students not attending a prom on a
case-by-case basis, depending upon how many applications and donations
we receive year to year.

Volunteer Questions:
How do I volunteer?
I want to host a donation drive.  Where do I start?
What does FGP do year-round?
Can I get service hours for volunteering?

How do I volunteer?
You can fill out our volunteer form online.  Your information will be sent
to us, and you will be contacted shortly via either a newsletter or an
e-mail from one of our volunteers.

I want to host a donation drive.  Where do I start?
Send us an e-mail and tell us your plan.  We can send you posters,
donation guidelines, press releases, sponsorship packets, and student
fliers.  We will also post the event on our website.  The sky is the limit:
you can collect donations at your school or office, in your neighborhood,
or at a party.  Have fun with it!

What does FGP do year-round?
Our busiest months are January through March as we are preparing for
the Shopping Day.  We receive the bulk of our donations during these
months.  We plan for the shopping day for 9 months and in that time also
organize donation drives, plan fundraising events, and constantly receive
and sort through donations.  We have many opportunities to plan and
serve on committees.  If you are interested, please
let us know.

Can I get service hours for volunteering?
Yes, if you need service hours for an honors society or social
organization, FGP is a great way to earn them.  We are happy to write
letters of recommendation or verify your service.
